About & method — The Self Expansion
About & method

One life. One system. One practice.

The person under pressure at work is the same one at home, and burnout draws no line between the two. The Self Expansion answers with a practice of universal principles—trained consistently until they become capacity you can rely on in any situation.

Julien Beladina
Founder · Teacher · Life & Business Strategist

Julien spent a decade in corporate finance managing investment companies and funds, where he optimized company-wide systems and automated workflows, removing redundancies and enhancing productivity. Then he burned out.

The recovery that followed became a discipline: yogic science, applied philosophy, neuropsychology, and psychophysiology studied at depth. Bridging time-tested wisdom and modern science, Julien now weaves leadership, personal development, and corporate culture into an integrated system for sustainable performance.

The Self Expansion treats the mind, the body, and the environment as they really are—threads of the same fabric, shaping one another. The practice is built to address what he lived through firsthand, for the organizations where it is most endemic.

This is a practice before it is a curriculum.

I teach only what I have worked through in myself, and a decade of daily practice is what lets me guide you through it.

The method

Two levels, or neither

Most workplace wellbeing fails the same way: it hands people techniques while leaving untouched the conditions that exhaust them. Burnout research keeps converging on a two-factor picture — exhaustion tracks demand; cynicism tracks missing support. So the work runs on both levels at once: build the individual’s capacity to carry load, and change what the organization asks people to carry. Combined-modality programs show nearly twice the impact of single-level interventions.

Three pillars
01

Addresses root causes

Practices developed over centuries as disciplines for training attention and regulating physiology, now validated by peer-reviewed research and applied to knowledge work. They target the physiological and psychological foundations of burnout, not its symptoms.

02

Multi-level transformation

Individual work through yoga and meditative practices strengthens each person’s capacity, while organizational interventions reshape corporate culture. Real change requires both personal resilience and systemic support working in tandem.

03

Transferable intelligence

Through applied philosophy, consistent practice, and nervous system literacy, we develop transferable intelligence — the discernment, self-awareness, and capacity for purposeful action that make people more effective in any situation.

Tools & techniques

The practices behind the method

Seven disciplines, sequenced into protocols and woven into daily life so the method holds up under pressure. Each card opens a brief: how we teach it, what it builds, how it differs from the common version, and the evidence behind it.

Practice over prescription

Most programs hand you a checklist for a situation or unintegrated consultations. We build a consistent practice you carry everywhere.

Tailored protocols

Tools are selected and tailored for the demands of senior knowledge work, drawn from peer-reviewed research.

Woven into your day

The practices integrate into daily life, so the capacity is already there before the pressure arrives.

Measurement

Actionable insights.

Every program opens and closes with a validated burnout assessment. Cohort-level change is reported to leadership in a structured debrief — alongside the organizational adjustments the program surfaced. Individual responses stay confidential; leadership sees the aggregate.

To be clear

This is more than corporate wellness.

Corporate wellness only buys temporary relief—a class, a massage, a day away from the desk. The research is clear that it doesn’t effectively prevent burnout. The Self Expansion effects real change. It draws on the full depth of practices like yoga—not the diluted class version, but the discipline it was designed as, for training attention and regulating the nervous system—woven into leadership and personal development.

It’s the most comprehensive, durable answer to burnout and psychosocial risks you’ll find—and the only one that works on every level at once.

Few approaches available go this deep, or are built this deliberately to last.

Evidence base

Engineered from the evidence

Every element is drawn from peer-reviewed research. Which practices, in what combination, for how long, in what format—each is set by the latest research on what produces durable change.
